Band from Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. From their archived Myspace page (translated from Portuguese): With an electronic profile combined with electro-acoustic instruments, the band consists of musicians already known from other Pernambuco bands who have performed several shows in Pernambuco and Brazil. Eta Carinae bets on a perfect marriage between electronic programming and organic elements, including regional harmonies (like the baiao), samba rhythms and percussive elements, with the aim of sounding universal but with that touch of regionality, which updates and values for a whole new generation our traditional rhythms, Northeastern and Brazilian. Because it sounded universal, the group looked for a name that meant the same here in Brazil as anywhere else in the world: "Eta Carinae", the name of the brightest star in our galaxy…
