Descrição
Pedro Gabriel Amaral is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Porto Alegre, south Brazil. Pedro Gabriel is known for making music within several different genres and influences, that range from progressive rock to electronic. In mid 2015, released his first record, an acoustic guitar-driven and prog rock influenced indie folk EP, [r=7374134]. Right after the release, Pedro Gabriel began working on new songs, that ended up making his February 2016 full lenght album, [r=8058882], in which he plays every instrument and shares vocals with guest lead vocalist Rogerio Schnack, who sings in most of the songs. It marked a huge change of direction in his music, leaving behing the lo-fi indie folk sound and embracing an alternative, experimental style. [r=8058882] also blends electronic music (mainly early IDM) influences with the 70s psychedelic and art rock sound. A year later, the duo also worked on breakthrough album Mankind, a dreamy, ecletic and experimental pop release. Two months after this album, Pedro went solo again for "(there is no band)", which marked another significant style change, this time towards IDM/ambient music. The whole album was recorded using synths and a computer, features long, progressive songs, mostly in uncommon time signatures, and is a conceptual record based around David Lynch's 2001 film, "Mulholland Drive".
